HOW DO I....
OBTAIN A REPEAT PRESCRIPTION?

Repeat prescriptions for patients on long-term treatment are issued at each doctor's discretion. Requests for prescriptions can be made in writing, by bringing in or posting to us your computer prescription request slip or by calling in to the surgery during opening hours. It takes two whole working days to process requests. We can arrange for your prescription to be collected by your local repeat prescription to you by post.

Please leave plenty of time for ordering repeat prescriptions and make sure you still have a safe supply of your medication in case there is a delay.

We do not accept repeat prescription requests or issue repeat prescriptions by telephone, fax or email or outside of normal surgery hours.

Medication Review

Patients must attend the surgery for a review of their medication at least once a year, or more often depending on their condition and the treatment/managment plan agreed with their doctor. Repeat prescriptions will not be issued after the due date for the medication review if no such review has taken place.

Replenishment

Please do not let yourself run short or out of your medication. You should allow a minimum of two whole working days before collection of repeat prescriptions and make allowances for weekends and public holidays. Where possible please make sure you provide exact drug names and doses when ordering. There should be no need to see the doctor for repeat prescriptions unless a medication review is due.
